How much should be spent on the upgrade of Newmarket station? I reckon no more than $1m, it can be done within $500k

I reckon any number that is significantly less than the $72m quoted by Artnl is a good figure.

I just "snap-track"ed Newmarket as this group suggested with my daughters HO stuff and it works great. Why couldn't they have done this years (10-12) ago.
It works without platform 3, also.
And it works for through trains - Waitakere to Papakura - leaving out Britomart or long waits at Newmarket (just what I need for my commute).
